I wonder if a generic basic prototype has been produced.įascinating stuff - what a great project to be involved in. I wonder how basic they can be and how much work involved.

You will be driving the A1 Tornado instead of the Class 43 High Speed Train. Drive the real-world 09:13 service from Bristol to Exeter with a twist. So the challenge, in difficult mode, will have to come from the weight of the train and/or degraded systems.ĪI locos will be needed. This is a modification of 'The Merchant Venturer' by JustTrains that is supplied with the route. I don't believe that the route is particularly iconic or challenging, like the Settle and Carlisle (which is LMS). This has probably been asked before but what are the coolest dlcs for train simulator In particular steam engines but anything is fine. Historic routes take a lot of effort, and DTG have not produced a historic version of the route for TS, so no reference material. A ~54mile, hour long stretch of the London to Edinburgh racetrack. If DTG are making a route for it, then that could be problematic. Even though he bought the disc version of the base game, CK257 is probably still going to need a Steam account since the vast majority of Train Simulator routes are downloadable mainly through Steam and overwhelmingly set up to automatically use the Steam version Train Simulator folder structure for the default download destination in their file string much like is the case with OMSI 2 for those bus simulation fans on the forum. The SimuGraph will be amazing and will take some managing! The development will be a great journey, thanks for bringing us along.īusiness wise, I guess the first loco will have to be one with wider public appeal, so perhaps Flying Scotsman. The old routes no longer appear to be available for download. So Briman's CTA routes should work as long as the New York-New Have route installed for what has available on his page, which I think right now are only the new routes.

Since I bought the game off Steam, it automatically updated to TS2017, and all my routes that I downloaded for free or bought as paid DLC (downloadable content) work exactly the same as before except for the graphics for some being a bit sharper than they previously were. The Standard, or Einheitsdampflokomotive Class 86 was built between 19 by many of the German locomotive manufacturers of that era, it was a 2-8-2 tank locomotive and 776 were built. They all worked just fine in TS2016 with no problems. Experience the thrill of controlling classic German steam traction in the form of the DR BR 86, which is available now for Train Simulator. I purchased Train SImulator when it was still the TS2016 version and have routes that are from TS2014 and TS2015. Now you can get the experience of a train operator. Now you can operate steam locomotives, diesel engines and electric trains from your mouse and keyboard. All there is, is an upade to the interface a lot of times, adding of routes when applicable and tweaks here and there. Train Simulator: Now you can say 'On the board', right in your own home.

Like there's nothing groundbreaking about the annual updates. Now if you're getting TS 2017 in a PC-DVD version, will it have these routes that briman is talking about, as usually producers of games try to make new levels for their new versions, which means that they usually have to remove some of the older levels. Allows you to switch / change tracks, includes 6 vintage steam locomotive engines, 6 detailed vintage old passenger wagons, compartments, carriages and bogies, well-crafted cities with buildings & railway stations, and scenic landscape. The new route requires the "Racetrack - Metra BNSF" route. Some of these routes should both be included in Train Simulator 2015 by default, and some are available in the Train Simulator DLC shop. Rail Road Train Simulator 2016 is the most detailed 3D mobile train simulator game that is free.

The old routes require the London - Brighton route. I don't know this part of briman's instructions(directly quoted from ) may be an issue for TS 2017.Īll routes require the New York - New Haven route. They just seem to throw in some new routes and tweak the interface every year. As long as you can find out where the files are, you should be good, as each "update" of Train Simulator isn't really groundbreaking. Steam has it's version of Train Simulator in its own folders, but I'm not sure about the physical copy.

The only problem I'm thinking of with the DVD version is the install location.
